Knowledge of baccarat (Part 7)
Odds in baccarat
In short, odds refer to a player’s chances of winning or losing bets against the house. In fact, Baccarat is considered to be a casino game with the lowest house margin. Although in the past Baccarat was a relatively complex game, modern rules were simplified and players only needed to choose one of three betting options.
The rules of the game have been established with the aim of creating small house odds on player and house bets, and higher odds on tie bets.
The house edge on the house bet is 1.06%, while the house bet margin is 1.36%.
The house rate on the tie jumps up to 14.4% but the payout is higher than the payout for the house and player bets.
The odds on a player’s hand to win a match in baccarat are 44.62% and the player’s chance of losing is 45.85%. The chance of a hand ending with a draw is 9.53%.
If you don’t include your chance of getting a tie in your calculation, the house has a 51% win rate all the time. The low house edge makes baccarat a favorite game for both high-stakes and casual players. However, you should not underestimate the importance of the 5% commission that you are required to pay the dealer mentioned above.
