Individual players do not receive cards during play. They bet on whether the player’s or dealer’s hand will win or draw.
The player and dealer both receive 2 cards. In some cases, the third card can be dealt, but never exceed 3 cards. The first card is the player’s first card and moves to the casino, while the second card is the dealer’s first card and is under the corner of the shoe. The third card is the player’s second card and moves to the casino. The first play ends with the fourth card, the player’s second card, placed under the corner of the shoe.
At this point, the dealer delivers the player’s card with the highest bet on the player’s side. If no hand selects the player’s side, the dealer reveals all the cards.
Cards with a value of 8 and 9 are called “natural”, and 9 beat 8. If either player’s or dealer hand both have a 8 or 9 count and the opposite hand is lower, the hand naturally wins.
